Four Types Of Backside Zits And How To Treat Them

Summer is finally upon us and it’s time to dust away the cobwebs, enjoy the fresh air and soak up some rays. But then it happens: you go to put on your bikini or swimsuit and you notice some nasty looking zits on your butt that have come just in time to ruin all the fun! If you find yourself in this predicament, here’s how you can get rid of them as quickly as possible so that you have your backside looking and feeling nice and smooth again!

1. Little red and inflamed zits

These zits are very common and are known as “folliculitis.” You might notice them if you’ve been sweating or if your clothes have chafed and bacteria have managed to infect the area. To avoid getting them, the best thing to do is change your underwear and pants after sweating and take off your swimsuit if it’s wet. If the spots are already there, avoid exfoliating because this will make them worse. You can also use an antibacterial shower gel to wash the area.

2. Furuncles

These zits are less common but much more annoying and painful. They’re mostly caused by a bacterial infection and tend to appear during summer. If you notice a furuncle on your bottom, apply some tea tree oil by rubbing it gently over the zit.

3. Hemorrhoids

Does it hurt when you sit down? Have you noticed pain and swelling around your anus? Then you’re probably suffering from hemorrhoids. Some likely causes may include constipation, diarrhea, sitting on the toilet for a long time, and pregnancy.  They should disappear on their own within a few days but if they don’t, a doctor will be able to get rid of them quickly for you.

4. Herpes

While it most commonly appears on the lips, herpes can also make its way to the buttocks. It’s very contagious and you can catch it if you come in contact with a person suffering from it (labial or genital) or when you sit on a public toilet, for example. If you have herpes on your bottom, wash your hands after you’ve touched it in order to avoid spreading it to other parts of your body. If it’s really hurting, try applying an ice cube to relieve the pain before seeing a doctor for professional treatment.

So, now you’re well-equipped with the knowledge of how to keep your butt in tiptop shape for summer! Just keep in mind the basics to avoid any infections: get enough sleep, stay hygienic and maintain a healthy diet. Your bottom will be much easier to live with if you do!
