3 Natural Ways to Exfoliate Skin in Just 10 Minutes
Is your skin looking dull? Is it dried out and flaky? Does your makeup look like it is caked on when you apply it, even though you’ve only put on a small amount? Does your skin look like there was an oil spoil on it?
Lackluster and/or oily skin is one of the most common beauty problems, and when you consider the fact that the dermis, or the top layer of your skin, renews itself every two weeks, it’s no wonder why dried out, flaky skin happens.
When your skin renews itself, millions of dead skin cells are just sitting there, stuck on the surface of your body. While a lot of those dead cells fall off, a lot of them are left hanging there, collecting on top of each other.
Exfoliating your skin will remove the buildup of dead cells and give you a fresh, appearance.
How to Exfoliate Quickly and Inexpensively
Many of the big name cosmetic companies sell exfoliating creams, and they can work great; however, they can cost a lot of money.
Fortunately, you don’t have to spend an arm and a leg to exfoliate your skin; there are ways that you can make your own exfoliating product at home with items that you probably already have in your kitchen. And, as if that isn’t awesome news, you can create these exfoliating products at home in a matter of 10 minutes!
Here are three different DIY exfoliating products that you can try making today!
1. Sugar Scrub – You can exfoliate your skin with this homemade sugar scrub. The roughness of the sugar is great for removing the buildup of dead skin cells and lets the new, polished skin beneath shine through. A super simple sugar scrub can be made by combining ½ cup organic brown sugar, ½ cup of raw coconut oil and 1/3 cup organic pineapple juice. Just mix it up, massage it onto your face and rinse it off with cool water.
2. Banana Honey Face Mask – Make an exfoliating face mask out of bananas and honey (it actually sounds yummy to eat, too!) To make this mask, you’ll need to blend an organic banana with two teaspoons of raw, organic honey. Add a few drops of lemon juice to the mix and stir it up. Wash your face with an organic soap before apply the mask. Spread the mixture onto your face and let it sit for 20 minutes. Remove the mask with cool water and pat dry.
3. Extract Cleanse – Remove dead skin cells and open up your pores with organic soap that contains lavender. First, open your pores by place a towel over your head and holding your face over a pot of steaming water for about five minutes. Splash your face with lukewarm water and then spread the soap over your face and rinse.
With these techniques, you’ll be able to attain fresh, clean and healthy skin free from the buildup of dead cells.
