YOU ARE GETTING FAT EVEN IF YOU DON’T EAT A LOT: MAKE SURE TO CHECK YOUR THYROID GLAND!

Hypothyroidism, or slow thyroid activity often leads to weight gain, or disturbs the regulation of body weight.

One of the reasons may be constipation (constipation), but they often cause overeating and seizures associated with feelings of fatigue and malaise and lack of energy.

In hypothyroidism often we reach for food that is rich in simple carbohydrates, which is fast and high in energy source, and after such a meal quickly comes to a decline in energy and fatigue. It is therefore important to adjust the diet.

– It is recommended to eat foods with a low to medium glycemic index. It must start with reducing carbohydrates that come from bread, pasta, rice, biscuits and sugary juices because too much carbohydrate intake significantly burdens insulin activity which is reduced in hypothyroidism – advises nutritionist Nenad Bratković.

You should eat carbohydrates from non-starchy vegetables, fruits, legumes and grains such as oats, buckwheat, quinoa, and possibly barley and rye. Also you should reduce the use of sunflower and soybean oils, and increase your intake of olive and to include in your diet oily fish. A good choice are and linseed oil, flax seeds, and omega-3 from almonds and walnuts.

It is important to regularly eat breakfast, and it should be foods with a low to medium glycemic index – oatmeal with low-fat yoghurt and cinnamon. Nutrition should be organized in five to six meals throughout the day. Between meals this snacks are allowed: 3 cubes of dark chocolate in the morning and half a handful of almonds afternoon.

With each meal is recommended to enter a little protein to deceive hunger, and the best source of proteins are fish, beans, grains and nuts, and egg white. Increase your intake of foods rich in antioxidants, such as blueberries, cherries, beets and tomatoes. Avoid those that interfere with the thyroid gland, such as broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, kale, spinach, soybeans and peanuts.

It is also recommended regular physical activity to raise the level of happiness hormone serotonin and endorphins, but also encourage the process of weight loss and burning body fat.
